COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH (CMH)
It is a project funded by Hans Foundation anchored through Bethany Society. It aims to ensure that all identified persons with mental health challenges and those who will be identified in 700 villages across Meghalaya have access to quality comprehensive services and also to promotion, prevention and treatment of mental health in partnership with NHM and other stakeholders in selected locations. The activities being conducted are awareness programs, health camps, meetings with stakeholders, livelihood plan for PWMI and family members, psycho-education and counselling, home visit, medication and follow up.
Activities
- Conduct Medical Health Camps
- School Awareness Programmes
- Follow up of 13 villages, where the patients/ family members are being counselled
- Meeting with the ASHA and ANM staff
- Meeting with the school authorities and staff for induction of children with mild mental disorder
- Monthly meetings with stakeholders (ASHA and Anganwadi workers, DPO, Headman’s) Livelihood plan for PWMI and family members
- Train the persons with mental disorder for livelihood programme according to their interest and capacity
- Psycho-education and counselling
- Process documentation of each clients are maintained
- Home visit
- Medication follow-up
- Celebration WMHD and IDPWDs
